An introduction to competitive squash for newbie juniors…

Off The Wall Squash are running a series of junior events aimed at newbies to our beloved sport. The idea is to get kids involved in playing matches, enjoying tournaments and gwetting stuck into a bit of competition, but in an environment that feels unpressured, fun and against children of similar abilities. These are tournaments that carry no ranking points and are purely for a fun experience.

We had a great turn out at our first Junior Grand Prix held at Ipswich Sports Club on the 29th January. We had players entered in the following categories;

Boys Year 4 & Under
Girls Year 4 & Under
Boys Year 6 & Under
Girls Year 6 & Under
Boys Year 8 & Under
Girls Year 8 & Under

Juniors are encouraged to enter if they’re at non-county standard, have already been playing some squash at their respective clubs and have an understanding of the rules (i.e can serve etc). You don’t have to br a member of OTWS, thi sis open to any junior who’d like to play.

Winners and runners up of their categories:

Boys Year 4 Winner: Harrison Selby | Runner Up: Harvey Harrison

Boys Year 6 Winner: William Thornley | Runner Up Charlie Symes
