We are so proud to have an amazing coaching team at Off The Wall Squash.
Men and Women all of varying ages and experience who love our great sport and are as passionate as they come.
We have some of the country’s most respected coaches within our set up, who have coached junior and senior national champions, have developed the country’s largest Primary School Programme and are constantly striving to provide the highest quality of coaching.
Aside from our regular coaching activities at the Garrison, our coaches are available for bespoke camps and sessions at the Garrison or at your own club. If you have an enquiry, please feel free to get in touch.

Paul Selby
Director of Coaching | Level 4 Coach
Paul has been coaching for 25+ years and has coached National Champions at both senior and junior level, as well as female and male world top ten players. Some of these include former world no.7 Rebecca Macree, current PSA player Daryl Selby (Highest WR no.9) and former world no.21 Carla Khan.
Paul has also coached numerous National top 10 juniors in all age groups. He has previously held County Coach and East Regional Coach roles. He has also been a coach educator in South Africa, a Player Liaison / Sponsorship Scout for Head, Coach Mentor and Tutor for England Squash and occasionally guest commentates for PSA Squash TV. Previous Assistant National Junior Coach Norway.

Amy Aspinall
Level 2 Coach
Amy has been playing squash for 10 years & coaching for 3 years with OTWS. She had a strong junior career finishing in the top 20 in the rankings & would now like to get children enjoying the sport like she does.
Amy has been assiting with coaching for Essex Junior Squash for around 18 months and enjoyed leading the U11 Girls during the Inter-county finals.
Amy is supporting us in our Primary School Programme & Academy sessions, but is also looking to build her coaching career by coaching all ages how to play & seeing them with a smile on their face.
She is a gaining great experience as a Level 2 coach & available for 1:1 lessons at The Garrison.

Lauren Selby
Director of Coaching | Level 3 Coach
Lauren has 17+ years coaching experience. She started coaching at 16 and was the youngest female to obtain her ESR Level 3 Coaching qualification at 17.
We’re very proud that Lauren was selected as the Lead National Norwegian Coach for Junior and Senior teams. Lauren was the only female coach in the world at the time to be appointed as the Lead National coach for men & women at senior & junior level. Most recently she’s been appointed as England Junior Development Coach and joint led the girls to a Bronze medal in the World Team Champs in Melbourne 2023.
Lauren is an ex-professional player, reaching her highest world ranking of no.34. She was the National singles, doubles & mixed doubles Racketball Champion in 2012. Lauren has coached several England no1 junior players and many other top ranking junior players of all ages. She has held County Coach & Regional Coach roles. She also led the England U15 & U17 teams to victory in the European Team Championships in 2015.
Lauren holds a BSc Sports Science degree from Loughborough University & is also qualified in Sports Nutrition.
Lauren is available for 1:1 lessons at The Garrison.

Daryl Selby
Elite Performance | Level 3 Coach
Daryl is a current Professional Squash player, with over 100 months in the world top 20 ranked players and a highest world ranking of 9. He is a Level 3 coach and Director of sports management company Dynamic7Sport.
Daryl has started coaching more regularly at squads at the Garrison, as well as offering individual lessons when his schedule allows it. You can get in touch with Daryl if you’d like to arrange private coaching.

Emily Ison
Elite Performance | Level 3 Coach
Emily has been coaching for 10 years. She’s an ex professional player & has a wealth of coaching experience. She has a huge passion for the sport & in particular women & girls squash. She has recently been appointed as the England Aspire coach for the East Region.
Emily is Lead Coach at Ipswich Sports Club & has held Junior County Coach for Suffolk and the East Region. She was also assistant National Coach to the Senior & Junior teams in Norway. Emily is a fantastic asset to have on the team.

Dave Smith
Level 2 Coach
Dave qualified as a Level 2 coach after being inspired by helping Lauren at Junior Mornings. He fell in love with helping our youngest juniors to find their confidence and is now a great asset to us for these ever increasingly busy sessions. He’s wonderful with the kids and an important part of our team.
You may also find him at our Adult Club Night on a Thursday, either taking the session, or playing!
Dave is a qualified level 2 coach who is enjoying gaining coaching experience & available for 1:1 lessons at The Garrison.

Amelie Brooke
Level 2 Coach
Amelie has been a part of the Academy for 8 years as a player and is now a valuable part of the coaching team. She is a very talented squash player and is currently the number one junior in Essex at Under 19 level. She is energetic and enthusiastic with a passion for the game.
Amelie will be assisting with our Primary School Programme but also will regularly coach our younger juniors.
She is now available for 1:1 lessons at the Garrison.
