Off The Wall Squash had the pleasure of running the East regional Closed this year. It was held at Ipswich Sports Club and featured almost 100 players from across Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Buckinghamshire.
There were age categories from U9s through to U19s, which made for a very exciting and hugely competitive 2 days of squash. We had the tournament expertise of Karen Selby and Alec Livingtone at the helm, along with Lauren Selby and Emily Ison.
“We have been so impressed by the quality and standard of squash on display this weekend. We’re also very proud to have the U9 category in place so we can encourage the youngest of our region’s players to get a taste of competition.”
Karen explained that;
“Off The Wall Squash feel strongly about developing greater communication paths between the counties to provide a higher level of squash for our region’s players. Events like this and other proposals for regional development need to be a high priority to all county associations. We hope that we can all get together to support each other more and develop the East Region into a formidable group of players for years to come.”
OTWS are very grateful to the technical help offered from Alec Livingtone from ISC, his computer programming skills made for and extremely smooth running event.
So the important bit…onto the results!!
Sorry if we’ve not got everyone’s photos- it was quite busy and we didn’t manage to get loads of photos!
Well done to everyone who competed, but also a big thank you to the parents for bringing the kids and giving up your weekends to be involved in our event. These things can’t work without you and we know it’s a thankless task being chauffeurs! We look forward to seeing you at another event before too long hopefully.
